In December 2025, Christian Vos nominated Gudrun Benz, who was presented with a Bonsai Angel award during the gala dinner at The Trophy in Genk, Belgium.
Gudrun was recognised for her tireless dedication to the promotion of suiseki. Together with her late husband, Willy. Gudrun has travelled the world for over 40 years, sharing and supporting this art form. Gudrun Benz continues to play a prominent role in the international bonsai and suiseki community.
